Cannondale Bike Size Chart: Road, MTB & Gravel

Cannondale uses different sizing patterns across road, gravel, mountain, and hybrid bikes. Start with the correct category, because a numeric road size and an alpha MTB size are not interchangeable.

Sizing notes

Read the chart, then check the bike.

Cannondale uses both numeric and alpha sizing

The current road and gravel tables use numeric sizes, while the mountain and hybrid tables use XS through XL. Choose the bike category before translating your height into a label.

Road and gravel start close but differ

The road table spans 48 through 63 and the gravel table spans 48 through 61. Their height and inseam ranges are not identical, so do not copy a road size directly to a Topstone or other gravel model.

Mountain and hybrid labels do not describe the same position

Both tables use XS through XL, but an MTB and a hybrid bike can have different standover, stack, reach, and cockpit expectations. Use the category-specific chart before comparing labels.

Model geometry is the final check

The reference models include SuperSix EVO, Synapse, Habit, and Topstone Carbon. Use their stack and reach values as a second check when your height falls between two chart rows.

FAQ

Short answers for choosing a size before purchase.

What Cannondale road size should I start with at 170 cm?

The current road table puts 170 cm in the overlap between sizes 54 and 56. Use inseam, standover, and preferred reach to decide which size to investigate first.

Is Cannondale M the same size for road and mountain bikes?

No. A mountain or hybrid M is category-specific. Compare the height, inseam, standover, stack, and reach for the exact bike instead of reusing the label.

How do I choose between a Cannondale road and gravel size?

Select the category first, then use its table and inseam range. Confirm the exact model geometry because gravel bikes may prioritize clearance and a different cockpit position.

Is the Cannondale chart enough to choose a model?

It is a starting point. Confirm the current model-year geometry and size chart on Cannondale's official website before purchase.
