Specialized Crux Size Chart

Crux runs 49 to 61 cm in six sizes. Specialized's height chart is not evenly spaced. Size 49 covers three centimetres of height and size 56 covers eight, so read the range for the size you land on instead of assuming a step.

How neighboring sizes compare

If you're 178 cm and fall inside both the 54 and 56 ranges, compare reach and standover rather than assuming the larger size is more comfortable.

Sizing notes

Why height alone is not enough

Riders with the same height can need different sizes because inseam, torso length, flexibility, and preferred handling differ.

3 checks

  1. Stack climbs 91 mm from 49 to 61 while reach grows 50 mm, so the front end rises almost twice as fast as the frame lengthens.

  2. Standover climbs 96 mm across the ladder. The largest step is 58 to 61 at 26 mm.

  3. Reach moves 50 mm across six sizes. Sizes 54 and 56 both cover a 175 cm rider, so let reach decide between them.

Questions

Crux size chart FAQ

Short answers for Specialized Crux sizing.

What size Specialized Crux should I ride?

Start with Specialized's height range: 49 for 155–158 cm, 52 for 163–168 cm, 54 for 168–175 cm, 56 for 175–183 cm, 58 for 183–191 cm, and 61 for 191–198 cm. The gaps between those ranges are uneven, so confirm the range for the size you pick.

What size Crux fits a 175 cm rider?

175 cm sits at the top of Specialized's 54 range, which stops at 175 cm, and at the bottom of 56, which starts there. The 54 carries 560 mm of stack and 388 mm of reach; the 56 carries 578 mm and 400 mm.

Does the Specialized Crux come in a 44?

No. Crux runs from 49 to 61 cm, so 49 is the smallest frame and it takes riders from 155 cm. Tarmac publishes a 44, so a smaller road frame exists, but not in the Crux.

How tall is a Specialized Crux 56 for?

Specialized publishes Crux 56 for 175–183 cm, which is 5'9"–6'0". It carries 578 mm of stack, 400 mm of reach, and 803 mm of standover.

Is a 54 Crux the same size as a 54 Diverge?

No. Crux 54 covers 168–175 cm and Diverge 54 covers a different band, because Specialized publishes a separate height chart for each family. Check the number on the model you are buying.
